Gaetano Mangiapia is a physical chemist who has been working in the field of small-angle scattering and later reflectometry since the beginning of his PhD thesis, back in 2002. Since 2018 he has been part of the team of REFSANS, the horizontal time-of-flight neutron reflectometer installed at the Maier-Leibnitz Center in Garching. His main interests range from the field of soft matter (study of phospholipid membranes, interaction with surfactants, proteins and active principles, polymer-surfactant interaction, stimuli-responsive nanosystems, etc.) to the physical chemistry of materials, with particular attention to interface processes.
